As fishing line quickly exits a typical round spool, it naturally maintains contact with the spool’s edge for most of the cast. When the line leaves the Sharkfin spool it touches only the tip of each “fin,” greatly reducing friction. With less line friction you’ll enjoy longer, more accurate casts as well as less line wear. Also with the Sharkfin, when slack line is inadvertently wound onto the spool, the fins “catch” any line twist or loops, and is freely released on the next cast without incident, preventing tangles and “birdnests.”
